Lalya Gaye brings classic mediterranean warmth to a freezing nation.

Lalya's Sunday night show 'Down South', introduced some French language popular songs from the fifties.
Including 'Misirlou' by Dario Moreno the tune made famous here by Tarantino's use of the 1960's recording by Dick Dale. Warm memories of old movies for this listener.

Lalya's playlist:

Dalida - Bambino
Dalida - Fado
Luis Mariano - Mexico
Luis Mariano - La Belle de Calix
Luis Mariano - Fandango des Pays Basques

Dario Moreno - Brigitte Bardot

Snow White in session at Culture Lab radio

The legendary singer and actress Princess Snow White was recorded in session for the Steve Dales show last Friday night. As fresh sounding as she was in 1937 when she first came to the worlds attention with her uniquely sweet vocalising and impeccable manners.

The show was inspired by light on snow albeit very tentatively and subjectively but it's my show so there.
